Operation not permitted (1) (51) sono errori relativi ad un disco non adatto o non conforme. per prima cosa scarica la 3.2.1 beta 3 e prova con quella versione: http://www.bombich.com/software/files/

se non basta inizializza il disco mac os esteso journaled e riprova. schema delle partizioni GUID e una sola partizione.

se ancora non basta, chiedi nel forum del software stesso, riproducendo il log per intero. http://forums.bombich.com/viewforum.php?f=12

La versione si CCC in mio possesso è la 3.2.1 che, nell' elenco che mi hai linkato, appare successiva alla 3.2.1 beta 3.

Mi confermi il tuo suggerimento di installare questa?

PS "Purtroppo" Il disco WD è già inizializzato in versione Journaled, con schema GUID, ad una sola partizione

certo. il senso è che è utile fare un tentativo con una versione diversa. scegli tu quale. puoi scegliere anche una versione più vecchia di quella proposta. un'ultima annotazione: CCC è un buon programma, ma time machine è da preferire in generale. infine per creare file immagini adatte ad un ripristino c'è anche utility disco.

Purtroppo non ha funzionato il cambio di versione. Proverò a seguire anche il tuo ultimo suggerimento.

Una ultima domanda: il back up "fallito" in realtà è risultato praticamente completo, nel senso che:

il disco WD risulta bootabile e tutti i dati sono stati copiati (più di 478 Gb) ad eccezione di quelli di cui al log (pochi Mb).

La domanda è: quei dati non copiati sono importanti o posso ... "fregarmene"?

Io ho avuto problemi inspiegabili e irrisolvibili con CCC e sono passata a Super Duper che di problemi non me ne ha dati. Parlo però di un'altra versione di CCC.

Lieto di risentirti, Padmè e grazie del suggerimento. Proverò a scaricarlo, ma mi dispiace perchè CCC mi ha sempre funzionato perfettamente con il disco esterno de La Cie e mi ci trovo bene ... Ma insomma, non bisogna fossilizzarsi sulle cose, specie in questo settore, vero?

difficile da dire, ma non mi fiderei. esistono delle alternative come hai letto sopra e mi rivolgerei a quelle, in attesa di una nuova versione di CCC.

A chiusura di questo 3d, informo tutti i miei cortesi interlocutori che ho scaricato Super Doper è ottenuto esattamente lo stesso errore che mi aveva dato CCC ...

Conclusione: i dischi Western Digital sono evidentemente incompatibili con questi software.

Amen, vuol dire che tornerò ad usare, con WD, Time Machine, che, per altro, non mi piace affatto, anche se ne ho compreso la filosofia.

Il mio "disgusto" è aumentato quando ho scoperto che i backup di uno dei miei due iMac non si integrano con quelli dell' altro e, dunque, per conservare quelli di entrambi bisognerebbe avere dischi esterni di una capienza mostruosa!

Comunque ringrazio tutti voi per le preziose indicazioni che mi avete - come sempre - fornito.
