Microsoft nell'app store con bing
Prendetela come una provocazione, ma segnalo l'uscita nell'app store l'app gratuita di Microsoft Bing. All'apertura, dopo che vi viene presentata l'immagine del giorno, si possono ricercare (in teoria) mappe, itinerari, immagini, film, aziende e notizie, anche vocalmente.
Tuttavia qualsiasi ricerca io abbia effettuato, ho ricevuto come risposta: "We didn't find any result for..." (e parlo di Chicago, Obama, New York Times, USA.. non di villaggi, aziende o temi sconosciuti).
La ricerca tramite voce non ha funzionato, anzi ogni volta si è chiusa l'app.
Non devo aver capito come si usa, perché se mi fido delle recensioni qualcuno è riuscito ad adoperarla. Dove sta l'inghippo?
Ci riprovo più tardi... Magari è un problema solo mio...
Ho scaricato 260 applicazioni e questa è sicuramente la peggiore, dopo la sola che non si è mai aperta (alla prima versione).

Invece a me funziona solo inserendo le parole con la tastiera. Con la ricerca vocalica l'app si chiude. Ho letto su una pagina spagnola (con tanto di video di dimostrazione) che cambiando le impostazioni a lingua inglese e regione Stati Uniti funziona anche la ricerca tramite voce ma sinceramente non ho provato.

Bene, ho fatto prove con un diverso formato regionale (USA) e ora l'app riesce ad effettuarmi le ricerche con tastiera.... non digerisce il formato regionale che avevo messo prima! (razzisti :lol 
. Con questo formato continua a non funzionare del tutto. Ho inviato una notifica di bug agli sviluppatori.
Avevo notato che a dipendenza degli app store dove andavo (ne frequento tre) c'erano o recensioni più o meno positive (comunque funzionava) oppure negative perché non funzionava... ( "inutilizzabile", "inutile", "tipicamente microsoft").

Il formato regionale è decisivo per il funzionamento della ricerca tramite tastiera, ma se lo cambio ci sono conseguenze altrove (numeri di telefono, date).

Bing ritirata dagli store internazionali in attesa della correzione dei bug:
1.****** Using voice search outside the U.S. crashes the app. We’ve identified that the issue relates to the region the phone is set to. We’re working on a fix for this right now, and we’ll update the app in the next few days. People will get the update automatically – you won’t have to update or reinstall the app. If you are encountering this issue you can temporarily work around it by going to Settings > General > International and change your Region Format to “United States.”*
2.****** App doesn’t work on 1st generation iPod Touch. The Bing app officially supports 2nd generation iPod Touch devices, but we’re in the process of testing those 1st generation devices as well. We’ll announce support for that as soon as testing is complete.
3.****** No search results outside the U.S. At this time Bing is only fully supported on the iPhone for the US; in some regions people may not be seeing results at all. While there was a brief period of which the Bing iPhone app was being offered in international markets at this time international availability has been suspended. We would like to apologize for the inconvenience and we hope to expand our support and availability of the app in other regions in future versions of the Bing app for the iPhone. If you are in the US or if you are encountering this issue and or you are looking for a *temporarily work around go to Settings > General > International and change your Region Format to “United States.”*
