Booksmart di Blurb in crash!
Buongiorno! E scusatemi per il ritardo, ma non sempre ho la possibilità di connetermi. Comunque in risposta a Pisolomac, no, io non riscontro i valori che indica lui. E con questa versione del software sono riuscito, come già detto, a concludere il mio fotolibro senza nessun intoppo di alcun genere. Con la versione precedente non avevo concluso nulla per i continui crash ad ogni piccola modifica. Naturalmente non so da cosa possano dipendere queste variabili così diverse.

Hello Maurizio,
Thanks for your message. After upgrading, your images are "cached" anew upon opening the book for the first time in the new software. That means the program is busy building the various versions of the images that it uses to display your book. Image caches are generated only when the page that image is on is visited. So, scrolling through your book for the first time after upgrading can indeed take a while. However, those image caches are saved, so opening the same book tomorrow in the new software should be significantly faster, and your project should run normally after this initial delay.

In effetti la situazione era dovuta all'import di diversi gb di fotolibri che la nuova versione ha dovuto riconvertire.
Comunque sul forum di Blurb c'è praticamente un plebiscito di utenti mac che rivogliono la vecchia versione perchè la 2.0 da diversi problemi. Speriamo che risolvano con la prossima versione del programma.

Misteri della fede!!!! Non so che dire. Io ho sperimentato l'esatto contrario, ma speriamo che risolvano una volta e per tutti: sto preparando un maxi volume che prevedo avrà circa 150 pagine con oltre 250 foto...per ora tutto procede bene, e non vorrei che ulteriori versioni (..lo so, parlo egoisticamente!) mi riportassero ai problemi precedentemente illustrati. Certo è che per il momento io non cambierò versione! Buon Lavoro e Buonanotte a tutti, soprattutto al Mac peer forum che ci ospita quasi per una discussione privata: Sono troppo Buoni!!!Alfredo55

BookSmart 2.0 patch released today, June 24, 2009
We’ve just released a patch to BookSmart 2.0 that should clear up a few problems some of you have been experiencing and just plain run better for the rest of you.
Here’s what you’ll find in 2.0.1:
• Improved stability when copying and pasting text into BookSmart from other applications.
• Marked improvement for those experiencing severe performance problems on certain Windows configurations
• Fixed an issue in which certain java configurations on Mac OS X prevent BookSmart 2.0.0 from launching.
• Fixed an issue in which some drop downs appear as black or white boxes on certain Vista machines.
• Fixed an issue in which a book project rename sometimes reverted back to "Untitled."
Even if BookSmart is working fine for those who are using the workarounds we’ve suggested in the past weeks, we recommend upgrading to this latest version.
2) Ora Libri direttamente dai PDF
Exciting news – Blurb now accepts PDFs!
We think this is some of the biggest Blurb news ever … introducing our new PDF to Book workflow. You can now print a Blurb book using your own PDF, whether it’s from InDesign® or your favorite design tool. You can use our free, downloadable, ready-to-use InDesign® templates or get measurements using our specifications calculator to create a PDF using your own program. Bleeding an image from front to back and over a spine is now possible. Full creative control, like never before. And after uploading your PDF to Book, you’ll experience all the same features Blurb offers whether you’re promoting your book in the bookstore, participating in Set Your Price, or creating Blurb Badges.
We know that accepting PDFs has long been a request from you design pros out there. So, we’d like to extend a big thanks to a lot of the folks in our forums community who helped test the program over the past month – your feedback has been extremely supportive and helpful, and the books you created were amazing.
