Riprendo questa discussione, perchè ho da poco una stampante una Epson stylus c42ux, era inutilizzata da tempo, ho scaricato il driver epson ma non mi da il livello delle cartucce e neanche il modo di poter pulire le testine, ho comprato delle carucce (compatibili visto che non ero sicura che funzionasse ancora) Cambio la cartuccia del nero provo e funziona provo a capire se quelle del colore funzionano e cambio anche la cartuccia del colore. Dopo di che, non mi funziona ne il colore ne il nero. Ho istallato gutenprint, ho scaricato il Gutenprint 5.2.1 ma credo di aver sbagliato perchè non credo ci sia il driver per la mia stampante. Scusate il disturbo come al solito e vi chiedo delle cortesi delucidazioni. (spero che non si debba buttare la stampante!)

Printing at standard and draft quality to the Epson Stylus Photo R1900 has been corrected.
Printing to the Epson Artisan 700, Artisan 800, Stylus Photo TX700W, Stylus Photo TX800W, Stylus PX700FW, Stylus PX800FW, EP-801A, EP-901A, and EP-901F is believed to be corrected based on updated specifications. The printers have not been tuned and are still considered experimental.
An Italian translation has been added.
Builds using the VPATH feature, allowing building outside of the source tree, have been fixed. This has no user-visible implications, but it may have implications to distributors building Gutenprint.

What's new in this version:
CUPS PPD files in non-English locales are now generated correctly when the CUPS driver interface is used (with CUPS 1.2 and above).
Epson inkjet printers that support duplex printing now use less restrictive margins (allowing use of more of the page) when duplex printing is not used.

These printers should all be fully functional, but may be further tuned in the future.
Duplex printing has been enabled on the Epson Stylus RX680, RX685, RX690, PM-A940, and PM-T960. Support for these printers is still considered experimental.
Support has been added for the Canon MULTIPASS MP220.
Preliminary support has been added for the Canon PIXMA iP4600.

Guten print 5.2.4 rc1

Gutenprint 5.2.4-rc1 is a release candidate from the stable branch of Gutenprint 5.2. Gutenprint 5.2 no longer supports Macintosh OS X 10.2; it now requires 10.3 (Panther) or higher. Notable changes since the Gutenprint 5.2.3:

The packaging for Mac OS X has been changed:
Printer PPDs are no longer included in the download. The PPDs will be created during the installation process. This will add several minutes to the installation process. This change will reduce the download by over 30 MB.
There are now separate binaries for Leopard (OS X 10.5). The proper files will automatically be instlled based on the version of OS X on the boot disk.

    EPSON Stylus DX4000
Printing to the Epson PM-D600 has been corrected.

It is now possible to adjust the ink parameters for quadtone inks in CUPS. Previously, these parameters could only be adjusted in the enhanced Print plugin for GIMP and other native Gutenprint applications.
Updating CUPS PPD files is now faster.

nessun auto update. a mio parere la cosa migliore è rimuovere la versione precedente con l'apposito unistaller e installare la nuova. eventualmente togliere e ri-aggiungere la stampante.
