elimina queste cartelle e files:
Libreria/Application Support/iDVD
Libreria utente /Application Support/iDVD/Installed Themes

iDVD '08 Special Report: Quits/crashes at launch, fix
Several readers have reported an issue where iDVD '08 fails to launch, with the application icon bouncing in the Dock a few times, then no further progress; or iDVD may launch and bring up the splash screen, then unexpectedly quit immediately after any button is clicked; or a kernel panic ensues at starutp. As described by one reader:
"I've been using iDVD on my powerbook for years. When Apple released iLife '08, I went right out and bought it. After doing the upgrade install, I tried to open iDVD. It looked like it was starting, with the icon bouncing in the dock, but after presenting its menu, the application seemed to just die. No log file, no indication as to why."
MacFixIt reader L. Van Calster reports repeated kernel panics when attempting to launch iDVD '08:
"When opening iDVD 08, I immediatly got a kernel panic, very time I tried. I've got the latest releases of all software components installed in Mac Mini, with 1 GB of memory."
This issue can be remedied in most cases by deleting the folders:
/Library/Application Support/iDVD
~/Library/Application Support/iDVD/Installed Themes
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.idvd
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iApps.plist
then re-installing iDVD '08, checking the option to include old themes if desired.
The re-installation portion is crucial. An Apple Knowledge Base article, #306064, describes deletion of two of the aforementioned folders, but omits the re-installation. In fact, in most cases, only a simple re-installation using the included installer is required. If that fails, however, you can try using Pacifist to re-install as described by Eric. Simply download and install Pacifist, then drag the iDVD '08 package (.pkg file) over its icon. Select the package (starting with "Contents...") in the list, then click the "Install" button in the upper-left of Pacifist's main window.

It appears that the crash occurs when iDVD '08 attempts to copy themes from older versions of iDVD to ~/Library/Application Support/iDVD/Installed Themes.
MacFixIt reader Eric Temple writes:
"I fixed the iDVD 08 problem (icon bounces a few times, then it quits.) by deleting the cache and preference files, then using Pacifist to reinstall iDVD. Just using Apple's recommended fix of simply deleting cache and pref files didn't work for me without the Pacifist reinstall."
Unfortunately, some users are still experiencing unexpected quits at launch even after the suggested fix.
One reader writes:
"I deleted all traces of iDVD and reinstalled. The program starts up and you get to choose whether you want to open a project or create a new one, but then the program just closes without even a goodbye. No crash report, no nothing."
