Di solito io disinstallo la versione precedente usando il suo installer/uninstaller, poi scarico ed installo la nuova.
E sempre di solito non installo mai le versioni beta.

non basta, dopo che hai disinstallato, cerca in preferences plist e in application support, sia in user che in macintosh hd, sia nella libreria di sistema (quest'ultima dovrebbe essere stata pulita dal suo unistaller, ma non si sa mai). Inoltre concordo sul fatto che non è consigliabile installare una beta con Little Snitch.
