Recording
With djay you can capture your audio mix (including audio received over the network) and save it to disk. You can start AND stop recording by simply pressing the button right in the center above the turntables (Command + R).
In djay -> Preferences select the "Recording" pane to configure your recording settings.
1. Automatically save audio recordings without user interaction:
By default, an open dialogue is presented to you where you have to choose a file. If you enable the check box, this panel does not appear, and the recording will start right away (to the location specified in the appropriate text fields below).
2. Automatically stop recording after x seconds:
When enabled, this allows you to schedule the end time of your recording. Even if you don't know beforehand for how long you will be recording, it is recommended that you set a maximum recording time (for example 120 minutes). You can run out of disk space if you forget to stop recording manually.
3. Recording Audio Format:
You can choose between aif and caf file format. If you select a compressed format the quality will be a bit lower, however, you will significantly reduce file sizes.
