Phex is a open-source, multi-plattform and spyware free gnutella client. It offers a automatic search functionality to find new download candidates, resumes the downloads across different hosts and has multi-source downloading (swarming). You have improved download configuration to tune your auto search and there is support for the Gnutella Protocol v0.6 and other protocol extensions. Phex is written in Java and able to run on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and many other common plattforms. It is compatible with LimeWire, BearShare, Morpheus, and all other P2P Gnutella clients.

What's new in this version:
After a long beta cycle the Phex team is proud to present you Phex 2.2, finally a stable release.

? ????Most notably in this release are the download improvements, mostly implemented by Nick Farrell. You will notice a much better download segmentation with dynamic sizes based on the candidates speed. Slow candidates get smaller segments then faster candidates. Also slow candidates will give partly downloaded segments to available faster candidates.

An improved segment selection will make sure you start downloading the rarest parts and the beginning of the file first. You can even select your preferred download strategy.

As the first file-sharing program Phex features MAGMA (MAGnet MAnifest) file support. A magma-list is in essence an easy way to share your list of most loved files with your friends. It contains a collection of magnets.
