Skim (http://skim-app.sourceforge.net/index.html) è un PDF Reader che comprende alcune funzioni aggiuntive molto interessanti, soprattutto per chi deve preparare una presentazione, oppure per coloro che, dovendo studiare un documento, trovano utile appuntare piccole note.
Il testo può essere sottolineato ed evidenziato; le varie parti del documento, testo e figure, possono essere messe in risalto inserendo cerchi e quadrati colorati; nel corpo del documento è possibile inserire semplici note di testo che appaiono come piccoli box colorati, oppure note più complesse, richiamabili con doppio click, che possono contenere testo e immagini.
Il documento può essere visualizzato anche in modalità presentazione (vedi figura).

Inoltre, funzione molto interessante, è possibile selezionare e copiare porzioni di testo dal documento PDF. Il documento così editato può essere salvato nel formato di Skim oppure a sua volta esportato in formato PDF.
In aggiunta a tutto questo, Skim comprende tutte le funzionalità di un PDF Reader, compresa la possibilità di aggiungere bookmarks alle pagine per un richiamo immediato.
